SPECIAL RULES
  1. All entries and awards in this department shall be subject to the General Rules and Regulations published in the front of this catalog.
  2. Entries close in this division FRIDAY, August 13, 2010. Entry fee: $25.00 per animal for all breeds. Late entries will be accepted until Labor Day for an additional $15.00 per head. Initial bedding is provided.
  3. All animals must be entered in the name of the owner and must have been owned by him not less than 60 days prior to the opening of the Fair.
  4. Veterinary Inspection: All sheep must be accompanied by a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian. Provisions of The Texas Animal Health Commission will apply.
  5. All sheep entered as purebred must be registered and papers will be checked from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. on Tuesday 9/28.
  6. Computing Ages:
    A. The base date for computing ages will be September 1st.
    B. Yearling — Born before Sept. 1, 2009
    Fall Lamb — Born Sept. 1 - Dec. 31, 2009
    Early Spring Ewe Lamb — Jan. 1 - Feb. 14, 2010
    Late Spring Lamb — Feb. 15, 2010 and later.
    C. All lambs, in order to be eligible to compete in their respective classes, must be carrying all milk teeth at the time of entering the show ring.
    D. Yearlings may have as many as four permanent teeth but must have been born before September 1, 2009.
  7. Sheep must be in place by 12 noon, Tuesday, September 28, and remain in place until the show is over. No empty trailers will be allowed to remain inside the fairgrounds around the barn area, they must be parked in the designated Livestock parking lot off of 9th and Avenue B after unloading.
  8. Judging will start at 9 a.m.Wednesday 9/29 in the order listed below.
  9. Exhibitors will be limited to two placings only in each class and one placing in the group classes.
  10. Each exhibitor will be mailed 2 season passes and 1 “Livestock Pass Gate" (located on Ave A)” parking pass.
  11. Sheep must be slick shorn from knee and hock up at a uniform length. Maximum of 1/4 inch wool permitted.
  12. Herdsman Award — $25 Plus Banner.
  13. If class size is 12 or more, Superintendent may split classes.

    1. Ewe lambs eligible for this special class must have been purchased in the Texas Southdown Breeder’s Association spring sale.
    Transfer papers and tattoos arerequired.
    2. Open for Junior exhibitors only. Juniors who wish to enter both may pay doubl eentry fees, and enter both the Open Show and the Special Futurity Class.




2010 Mega Pass

Mega Pass is Back

The Mega Pass will be $60 again this year. Sales begin Monday, August 3rd at 3PM! They will be available for purchase at the Fair Park Coliseum before Labor Day Monday - Friday 3PM - 6PM. After Labor Day the times will be Monday-Friday 12 Noon - 6PM and Saturdays 10AM - 4PM.

The last day to purchase a Mega Pass will be Saturday, September 19th from 10AM - 6PM. They will not be available after that day!

The Mega Pass is a pay-one-price picture ID that is good for a wristband for unlimited rides each day of the carnival operation: September 24th - October 3rd.

**Pony rides and other specialty rides may be exempted.**
