SPECIAL RULES

  1. General: All entries and awards in this department shall be subject to the General Rules and Regulations published in the front of this catalog. PLEASE READ.
  2. Entry: Entry deadline is WEDNESDAY, August 15, 2007. A non-refundable entry fee of $25.00 will be charged for each head entered. Late entries will be accepted until Labor Day for an additional $15.00 per head. Initial bedding is provided.
  3. Passes: Each exhibitor will be mailed 2 season passes and 1 “Gate 2” parking pass. Additional parking passes can be purchased for $10.00 each at time of entry.
  4. Eligibility of Animals: Only animals registered in a recognized Association may be shown. Only International Boer Goat Association or American Boer Goat Association registered animals may be awarded points. If animal is not International Boer Goat Association registered, owner has the option to register the winning animal within five business days with the International Boer Goat Association and still be eligible to be awarded points. If the winning animal is not International Boer Goat Association registered within the allotted time, points will not be awarded.
  5. Veterinary Inspection: All goats must be accompanied by a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian. Provisions of The Texas Animal Health Commission will apply.
  6. Age of Animals: Age of animals shall be computed from the date it is judged. Birth dates as listed on the registration certificate will be used to determine class entries.

    Registration:
  7. A registration certificate is required for all animals six (6) months or older.
  8. A stamped duplicate or faxed duplicate application showing the date received by the International Boer Goat Association or American Boer Goat Association office is required on all animals under six (6) months of age.
  9. No copies of registration or stamped duplicate of official registration will be accepted unless the animal is under six (6) months of age.
  10. The documents specified above as the requirements for that age animal to be shown must be presented to the Show Secretary for verification before the judging begins.
  11. Proof of ownership shall be the name on the registration document. Persons showing animals whose registration certificates have signed transfers that have not been processed by the International Boer Goat Association or American Boer Goat Association Office must show those animals as an agent for the owner on International Boer Goat Association or American Boer Goat Association records.
  12. An exhibitor shall not present an animal to be shown under a judge from whom it was purchased or possession taken within 90 days of show.
  13. An exhibitor shall not present an animal to be shown under a judge who is his/her immediate family, employer, or employee.
  14. If an animal is registered in the International Boer Goat Association or American Boer Goat Association, that registration number must be listed on the entry form.
  15. Any animal that has attained the “Platinum Champion” status or has received sufficient points to reach the “Platinum Champion” status is ineligible to show in International Boer Goat Association sanctioned or otherwise sponsored events. These animals are eligible to be displayed at any International Boer Goat Association events.
  16. An exhibitor shall not knowingly show an animal that does not meet eligibility requirements.
  17. Classes: Classes are available for Percentage and Fullblood. Percentage classes are for goats 50% to 87.5% Boer; Fullblood classes are for female goats that are 15/16 blood (93.7%) and higher and 31/32 blood (96.88%) and higher for male goats. Progeny will not be allowed in the ring.
  18. Breeding: All animals must be registered purebred or percentage blood Boer goats and the registration papers and tattoo(s) or other means of permanent identification approved by the Superintendent or the Assistant Superintendent before the animal enters the show ring.
  19. Tattoos: All goats must have legible tattoo(s) of other means of permanent identification that matches the one(s) on its registration certificate or the animal will not be shown. If the animal has a microchip as its permanent identification, the exhibitor is responsible for providing a microchip reader. Tattoo policy will be strictly enforced.
  20. Heelers: Heelers will not be allowed in the show ring.
  21. Abnormality: Any goat showing any pronounced defect of abnormality will be barred from showing in any of the breeding classes.
  22. Fitting: Fitting will be left up to the discretion of the exhibitor. No artificial coloring will be allowed.
  23. Females: Any female over 24 months of age that has not kidded will not be allowed to show.
  24. Check In: All exhibitors not checked in or that have not notified the superintendent with sufficient cause by check in deadline, will be disqualified.

Mega Pass is Back for 2007

Mega Pass is Back

The Mega Pass will be $50 prior to Labor Day and $60 after Labor Day. Sales begin Wednesday, August 1st! They will be available for purchase at the Fair Park Coliseum before Labor Day Monday - Friday 2PM - 6PM and Saturdays beginning 8/18 10AM - 2PM. After Labor Day the times will be Monday-Friday 12 Noon - 6PM and Saturdays 10AM - 2 PM.

**The last day to purchase a $50 Mega Pass will be Saturday, September 1st!**

The Mega Pass is a pay-one-price picture ID that is good for a wristband for unlimited rides each day of the carnival operation: September 20th - September 29th.

**Pony rides and other specialty rides may be exempted.**
