SPECIAL RULES
  1. All entries and awards in this department shall be subject to the General Rules and Regulations published in the front of this catalog.
  2. The Fair's official entry form is available at www.southplainsfair.com.
  3. This is an open youth show, ages 5-18.
  4. Entries: NO LIMIT.
  5. Entry fee: $25.oo per swine. Initial bedding is provided.
  6. DEADLINE TO ENTER is Friday, August 13, 2010. Entry forms must be postmarked by that date. Entries received after deadline, between August 15th and Labor Day must pay a late fee of $15.00 per entry. No entries will be accepted after Labor Day. Only 700 entries will be accepted and entries received in excess of this number or after this closing date will be returned.
  7. Each exhibitor will be issued 2 season passes but must purchase a “Livestock Pass Gate" (located on Ave A) parking pass for $15.00. Complimentary parking passes will not be issued. The $15.00 pass fee must be included with entry fees at the time entry is made.
  8. Arrival time: Animals will be accepted in the barn from 2 p.m. Friday 9/24 till 12 noon on Saturday 9/25. All animals must be in place by 12 noon Sat 9/25. After unloading, all trailers must be taken home or parked in the designated Livestock parking lot off of 9th and Avenue B after unloading. Unattended trailers parked on the public parking lots will be towed.
  9. Release Time: Swine will be released on Sunday 9/26 after judging.
  10. On arrival, each exhibitor will be given weight cards to fill out. These weight cards must be completed and turned in to the Swine Superintendents by 2 p.m. on Saturday 9/25, no exceptions. The top animals in each class will be reweighed and must weigh within ten pounds of the weight recorded on the weight card or be disqualified. Scales will be furnished
    for weighing. No other scales are allowed in the barn.
  11. No minimum or maximum weight limit.
  12. Classes will be divided based on the number of entries in each breed by discretion of Superintendents. Barrows and gilts will show together.
  13. Competition in the Show is open to Texas Residents only.
  14. Judging time: 9:00 a.m. Sunday 9/26 in the order that classes are set up in the premium book.
  15. Champion Swine of each Division will compete for Grand Champion. Reserve Champion Swine of the Division named Grand Champion will be brought in and compete for Reserve Grand Champion of the Show.
  16. Pen assignments will be made on arrival by the Show Superintendents.
  17. Dressing: The use of oil, paint, powder or dressing other than water is not allowed.

Premium money will be paid and ribbons given thru 10 places in each class.

2010 Mega Pass

Mega Pass is Back

The Mega Pass will be $60 again this year. Sales begin Monday, August 3rd at 3PM! They will be available for purchase at the Fair Park Coliseum before Labor Day Monday - Friday 3PM - 6PM. After Labor Day the times will be Monday-Friday 12 Noon - 6PM and Saturdays 10AM - 4PM.

The last day to purchase a Mega Pass will be Saturday, September 19th from 10AM - 6PM. They will not be available after that day!

The Mega Pass is a pay-one-price picture ID that is good for a wristband for unlimited rides each day of the carnival operation: September 24th - October 3rd.

**Pony rides and other specialty rides may be exempted.**
