SPECIAL RULES
  1. All entries and awards in this department shall be subject to the General Rules and Regulations published in the front of this catalog.
  2. Exhibitors must be bonifide members of a County 4-H club or FFA Chapter. Exhibitors must have continuously, personally, fed, and cared for their animals under the direct supervision of a CEA or an AST.
    To be eligible, boys or girls must be enrolled in, and attending, public, private, or home school elementary or secondary schools in Texas; and are eligible to participate in the 2007-2008 year if they are 8 (and in the third grade) or 9 years of age by August 31, 2007 and have not reached the 19th birthday on or before August 31, 2007.
    All entries must be made by the CEAs or ASTs with one check for the entry fees. Entries will not be accepted from individual junior exhibitors.
  3. Entries – 3 goats (wethers or does) will be allowed to be shown. Does must be identified with a scrapie identification ear tag and be in compliance with the USDA Scrapie Eradication Program. All breeds will show together. Breeds with 40 or more entries will be divided into two classes, 60 or more entries justifies three classes, 100 or more four classes, 150 or more five classes, 180 or more six classes, and 210 or more seven classes.
  4. Entry Fee: $20.00 per goat. Initial bedding is provided. No Showmanship classes will be offered.
  5. DEADLINE TO ENTER is August 15, 2007. Entry forms must be postmarked by that date. Entries received after deadline, between August 15th and Labor Day must pay a late fee of $15.00 per entry. No entries will be accepted after Labor Day.
  6. Each exhibitor will be issued 2 season passes but must purchase a “Gate 2” parking pass for $10.00, if needed. Complimentary parking passes will not be issued. The $10.00 pass fee must be included with entry fees at the time entry is made and all passes and parking passes will be mailed to the CEA or AST prior to the show.
  7. All goats must be sheared to 3/8” or less before arrival and horns must be tipped.
  8. No painting, powdering, or artificial coloring is allowed.
  9. For a goat to be eligible to show it must have its milk teeth. Teeth will be checked before the goats enter the ring.
  10. Goats must be in place by 6 P.M. on Friday, September 21, 2007. After unloading, all trailers must be parked north of the Avenue A and 4th Street Intersection. Unattended trailers parked in the parking lots will be towed.
  11. Weight cards must be turned in by 6 p.m. on Friday 9/21. The top 2 goats in each class will be reweighed and must weigh within 4 pounds of the weight recorded on the weight card or the said goat will be disqualified. Minimum weight of 50 pounds.
  12. Judging: 10 a.m. Saturday, September 22. Release after judging and all Market Goats must be out of the barns by 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 23.
  13. Grand and Reserve Grand Champion of the show will be judged at the conclusion of the weight classes. Photographs will be taken of the Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Goat.
  14. Does must be identified with a scrapie identification ear tag and be in compliance with the USDA Scrapie Eradication Program.

Mega Pass is Back for 2007

Mega Pass is Back

The Mega Pass will be $50 prior to Labor Day and $60 after Labor Day. Sales begin Wednesday, August 1st! They will be available for purchase at the Fair Park Coliseum before Labor Day Monday - Friday 2PM - 6PM and Saturdays beginning 8/18 10AM - 2PM. After Labor Day the times will be Monday-Friday 12 Noon - 6PM and Saturdays 10AM - 2 PM.

**The last day to purchase a $50 Mega Pass will be Saturday, September 1st!**

The Mega Pass is a pay-one-price picture ID that is good for a wristband for unlimited rides each day of the carnival operation: September 20th - September 29th.

**Pony rides and other specialty rides may be exempted.**
