SPECIAL RULES
- Entry Deadline, September 10, 2010. Entries received or postmarked after
that date will not be accepted. Rules of the Texas Animal Health Commission shall
apply.
- Entry fees are $2.00 per bird. Make checks payable to the Panhandle
South Plains Fair, and mail to Joe Poston, 5616 Duke, Lubbock, TX 79416
- The Superintendent reserves the right to reject any and all entries which
are deemed necessary. Junior entries must be marked as such to enter Junior Show,
otherwise they will be entered in the Open Show.
- Entry Times: Birds will be accepted on the Fair Grounds beginning at 6
p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 24 and must be cooped by 9:00 a.m., Saturday,
September 25.
- Release Times: For exhibitors living 75 miles or more, 6:00 p.m., Sunday,
September 26. All other birds will be released at 9:00 p.m., Monday, September
27.
Birds must be out by 10:00 p.m.
- Judging will begin Saturday 9/25 at 9:00 a.m. and the decision of the Judge
is final.
- Substitutes will be permitted when they are the same breed, color, sex, and
class.
- Exhibits will be fed, watered, and cared for, but this Association will not
be
responsible for any loss or damage that may occur.
- Color classes — for all recognized colors will be set up. The show reserves
the right to combine classes for competition. Classes will be provided for Old
Cocks,
Old Hens, Young Cocks, and Young Hens.
- Birds will be judged in coops. Name Cards will be folded while
judging.
- All birds must have numbered seamless leg bands and numbers entered
on entry sheet. Please fill out description space on sheet such as breed and variety.
- All exhibitors who enter 9 birds or less will receive one season pass.
Exhibitors who enter ten or more birds will receive two passes.
- Ribbons will be placed on coops after judging is completed.
- In cases where there is only one exhibitor and no competition, the judges
shall award only one premium, which may be first, second, third, fourth or fifth,
in
accordance with the merits of the exhibit. A single bird is limited to one award.
- No birds are allowed in the barn unless they are entered in the Show.
PREMIUMS
Regular premiums will be paid according to the number of entries in each class.
Ribbons will be given through five places.

Champion and Reserve Champion trophies will be given in both the Open and
Junior Shows in Utility, Fancy, Homer, and Roller Breeds provided there are
8 (eight)
or more birds in each class and MORE THAN ONE EXHIBITOR.

  2010 Mega Pass

Mega Pass is Back
The Mega Pass will be $60 again this year. Sales begin Monday, August 3rd at 3PM! They will be available for purchase at the Fair Park Coliseum before Labor Day Monday - Friday 3PM - 6PM. After Labor Day the times will be Monday-Friday 12 Noon - 6PM and Saturdays 10AM - 4PM.
The last day to purchase a Mega Pass will be Saturday, September 19th from 10AM - 6PM. They will not be available after that day!
The Mega Pass is a pay-one-price picture ID that is good for a wristband for unlimited rides each day of the carnival operation: September 24th - October 3rd.
**Pony rides and other specialty rides may be exempted.**
